Barnet FC player tests positive for Covid-19
Barnet’s game with Hartlepool United has been postponed after a Barnet player tests positive for Covid-19.
The game against the Pools team had to be rescheduled following the positive test and “a number” of Barnet players self-isolating until they test negative.
The club says it is following advice from the relevant authorities and more updates will be issued soon.
Dave Challinor, the manager of Hartlepool United, said: “It’s something we’ve got to get used to. Games in League Two have been called off due to outbreaks, it is going to be frustrating but I think it is going to be the norm over the next few months.
“Do I envisage it’ll be a problem? Absolutely, but everyone is in the same boat and we’re going to have to deal with some disappointment and some rubbish at some point but that’s just the way the world is at the moment.”
Hartlepool players already travelled to London on Friday in preparation of the match.
Their midfielder, Gavan Holohan, tweeted he expects this level of uncertainty being a “common theme” throughout the season.
Worthwhile trek down to London like ate some chicken and pasta and watched Gogglebox in bed 🙃 Can see this been a common theme throughout the season 🤦🏻♂️ #BackOnTheBus #WeGoAgain https://t.co/x863wXilbr
