INGLEWOOD, CALIF. — Browns rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah suffered a throat contusion in Sunday’s 47-42 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and was taken to a hospital near SoFi Stadium, a team spokesman said.
The Browns sent Owusu-Koramoah to the hospital as a precaution and for further evaluation, the spokesman said.
A second-round pick in this year’s draft, Owusu-Koramoah had been hit in the throat during the game. He played in the fourth quarter.
The Browns (3-2) had a bunch of players suffer injuries in their shootout loss to the Chargers (4-1).
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said cornerbacks Greedy Williams (right shoulder) and Denzel Ward (neck), right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) and safety M.J. Stewart (right hamstring) will undergo MRIs on Monday.
Williams injured the same shoulder in which he suffered nerve damage last year in a training camp practice. He missed the entire 2020 season with the injury.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was also taken to the hospital Sunday for a possible throat contusion.
