Marcus Rashford admits it’s a ‘great feeling’ to have Cristiano Ronaldo back at Manchester United.

The 36-year-old completed a sensational return to Old Trafford in August and he’s scored five goals since joining from Juventus.

Rashford is yet to play alongside Ronaldo as he’s recovering from a shoulder operation but the forward scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week and is closing in on a return.

And the England forward admits he can’t wait to play alongside Ronaldo, who he feels can guide the club to silverware.

‘That’s a great feeling for me, as a player, but also as a fan of the club as well,’ said Rashford.

‘It’s always nice when a club legend finds a way back to the club.

‘To be playing with him back at Old Trafford is a terrific feeling and hopefully gives us a push to start winning more trophies.’

Rashford is hopeful of making United’s squad for their clash against Leicester City after the international break.

United have missed Rashford’s speed and direct play this term, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side managing just nine goals in six matches since their win against Leeds on the opening weekend.

Rashford carried his shoulder injury throughout most of last term but he says he’s close to being fully healed now.

‘My recovery is – I wouldn’t say coming to an end because obviously I have to keep looking after it – but I’m in a much better place physically and mentally,’ said Rashford.

‘Last year was a very long season for me, I got this injury at the end of September and gradually it got that little bit worse, but now I’m fully free of that, I feel much better physically and mentally.’
