Brooklyn Nets’ Jacque Vaughn ‘looks forward’ to coaching healthy Ben

The Brooklyn Nets lost the first game of their Vegas summer league schedule on Friday to the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-97, there were still some good news that came out of Friday despite the loss.
During the first half of Friday’s game, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn was asked about guard Ben Simmons’ outlook for the 2023-24 season. Vaughn showed his support of Simmons by saying that he looks forward to coaching a healthy version of Simmons. Simmons, 26, has been in Brooklyn since he was traded to the team in the middle of the 2021-22 season in a trade that sent James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Simmons and other pieces.
However, Simmons did not play for the Nets in 2021-22 because of his needing surgery to address a back issue that he was having. Simmons was able to play in the 2022-23 campaign, but he played just 42 games due to a variety of injuries mostly related to his back and knees. In March, Simmons was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a nerve impingement in his back that he is currently rehabbing from so that he can be ready for training camp.
