Michael Beale has rejected the chance to join Wolves leaving the Premier League strugglers still hunting for a new manager.

Wolves had made the Queens Park Rangers boss, who had taken charge of only 17 games, their first choice to succeed Bruno Lage, after being turned down by Julen Lopetegui last month.

Wolves were prepared to pay Beale’s £1million release clause and were confident of having him in place for Sunday’s clash with Leicester.

But after leading QPR to the top of the Championship with a 3-0 win over Cardiff on Tuesday, Beale decided to stay in west London.

He said: ‘If an offer comes in officially, you don’t have to take it. You have to weigh up everything. There are a lot of questions you need to get answers to.

‘Football is about feelings and relationships. We’ve built strong relationships here.

‘I felt over-ready for this job and I feel supremely confident in this job. It’s 100% a dream of mine to manage in the Premier League. That’s not a secret.

‘But it has to be the right opportunity, the right moment and the right club. And…
