AEW Women’s Tag Title Tournament Brackets Revealed; The CEO Takes The
With AEW WrestleDream now behind us, we take charge into Full Gear on AEW Dynamite tonight.
After her successful title defense at WrestleDream, the AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, has a message for “The CEO” Mercedes Moné. She agrees to defend her title at Full Gear against Moné, but tells her to enjoy her 12-title celebration tonight.
It’s a 4-way tag-team match tonight featuring the teams of Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale, and The Triangle of Madness’ Skye Blue & Julia Hart.
The winning team will pick their first round opponents in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament.
As the action spills out to the ring, Ford and Bayne find the chance to go airborne and take all the opposing teams out. Ford and Bayne look strong throughout the match, but Nightingale takes Bayne out with a Pounce. With Hayter now tagged in, she lands a Hayterade on Hart to pick up the win.
Hayter picks up the mic, and alongside Aminata, they choose Hart and Blue as their first opponents.
Renee Paquette is in the ring and goes down the list of Moné’s accolades that she achieved over the past weekend. As Moné’s music hits, Mini Moné makes her appearance.
The 12-title belt holder is not too pleased and orders her Moné men and Paquette to head to the back. She calls out the marks and smashes Mini Moné into the cake. Cameron, under the table, is about to feel The CEO’s wrath, but Statlander arrives and sends Moné crashing into the table like a piece of cake.
An embarrassed CEO is screaming in distraught, but the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena, arrives with a suggestion. And suggests that the two team up to become the first women’s tag team champions in AEW.
Finally, the brackets are revealed for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament, and the action will start next week on Dynamite!
