Adam Pearce Reflects on WWE Legacy

Adam Pearce is better known to WWE fans as the on-screen authority for “Raw,” but he has worn many hats in his time with the company. Currently, being in front of the camera, his work started well before now with a few behind-the-scenes roles.
Returning in 2013, Pearce worked with the WWE Performance Center as a guest coach, and before he knew it, he became a full-time trainer of the center, one of its mainstays, in 2015. Pearce was interviewed by “Chaotic Good Sports” and gave a rundown of his time coaching future wrestling stars at the Performance Center, specifically highlighting how grueling the preparation truly is.
“There’s just so much that’s packed in that the general public doesn’t know or see these students doing at NXT,” he said, entertaining some insight into what goes on behind the scenes in WWE developmental. Regarding his wrestling career, Pearce was thankful for the opportunities the Performance Center afforded those interested in becoming wrestlers.
“I wish something like the Performance Center existed when I broke into the industry. That’s why WWE is at the forefront as always,” he said, pointing out how vital the training center is in shaping the next generation of WWE talent.
Pearce Retirement Match
Pearce’s road to WWE began with attempting to become a trainer in 2012, but things only went on to lay the foundation blocks for him to land at the Performance Center. He felt his time in the ring was drawing to a close, and he made that factual decision by 2014, which brought on his retirement match.
That fact adds to one of his favorite matches when Pearce battled Colt Cabana in Championship Wrestling from Hollywood. “It was perfect looking back; I wanted to lose, go out on my back,” Pearce recalled. “Cabana was the perfect opponent, and I appreciated it because it allowed me to do the honors for him. We had many cocktails later that night.”
