AEW Toni Storm CMLL Match Postponed Due to Travel Issues

According to recent reports, the highly anticipated CMLL match with “Timeless” Toni Storm, the former AEW Women’s World Champion, as the headliner has been rescheduled. CMLL has officially announced that Storm will not compete in their upcoming event scheduled for 11th October due to travel disruptions relating to Hurricane Milton.
With several flights into and out of the U.S. having been canceled, it is hard for Storm to reach Mexico. CMLL apologized to the fans in a statement explaining that Storm’s match against La Catalina would be rescheduled. The company is reworking the calendar with Storm and AEW to include a new date for the game.
The new date will be released soon, and CMLL assured fans they will provide updates via their social media platforms. This match pitting her against La Catalina, better known to some WWE fans as Katrina Cortez, was supposed to be one of the featured matches of CMLL’s “Month of Amazonas.” The event series is dedicated to celebrating CMLL’s women’s division.
While the month-long celebration concludes at the end of October, it is unknown if Storm’s match will occur before that.
Storm CMLL Debut
An appearance by Toni would’ve marked her CMLL debut, a first-ever outing in Mexico.
It also would’ve been part of her world tour since she lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at this year’s All In event at Wembley Stadium. Since the title loss, the former titleholder has not been resting on her laurels, making her much-publicized return to Japan’s STARDOM wrestling promotion.
Recently, she found herself teaming with Mina Shirikawa, one of May’s longest-serving allies. Toni did attempt to challenge Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship at STARDOM’s Nagoya Golden Fight on October 5th. The CMLL management made it clear that they were committed to ensuring this Storm vs. La Catalina match would happen as soon as possible and reassured fans that this fight would still occur.
