Triple H reveals the truth about CM Punk’s WWE return

Triple H has done an excellent job over the past two and a half years, since taking over from Vince McMahon at the helm of WWE. The former world champion quickly understood that a significant change was needed to bring the company back to the top and had the courage to make very unpopular moves.

There is no denying that the product has greatly improved in this time frame, as well as the relationships between athletes and management. It is no coincidence that The Game has convinced several champions and legends to return to WWE after numerous years of absence.

The two most emblematic cases were certainly those of Cody Rhodes and especially CM Punk. Both had a bad relationship with Vince McMahon, but returned to the Stamford federation thanks to the fundamental intermediation of HHH.

In a long interview with ‘SI Media’, Triple H revealed how he convinced CM Punk to return to WWE: “When Punk and I were having these conversations with Nick and going through this, when we first got on the phone, one of the things I said was, ‘I want to clear the air. I’m not the same guy I was 10-15 years ago. If I was, I wasted 10-15 years of my life. I’ve grown. I’ve changed. I have a different point of view. I would believe you’re not the same person you were 10 years ago and that you have changed.

I believe those conversations can happen and people can change. I will never say never, but we’ll have to see.”
