Welcome to the weekend hockey fans & bettors! What a stretch it’s been over the past week as the write ups have gone a combined 7-0 dating back to last Saturday’s picks. Tonight, we have 11 games to investigate around the NHL which features a huge clash between the Hurricanes and Oilers as well as the Bruins and Flames. Here are the angles I am looking at for today’s action in NHL wagering:

This Saturday we have another clash of the hockey titans as Carolina continues their road trip north of the border with a stop in Edmonton. The Hurricanes have enjoyed their road trip to this point with wins over Calgary and Winnipeg, thanks to solid defense having allowed only three goals in the last two games. This recent trend is nothing new for this Canes team as they rank second in the NHL in terms of goals against per game at 2.20. Carolina goaltender Frederik Andersen is expected to start tonight, and he starts to make the bet in this game clearer as an Under game Total bet. Andersen holds the third best GAA in hockey right now at 1.97 and has an overall record of 13-5-0 on the season. In Andersen’s previous 10 starts, the Total has gone Under in 8 of the last 10 games, that’s a glaring trend. One more key stat for the Hurricanes and the trend of going Under; they rank second in Corsi For % this season at 55.1% which means they are dominating play at even strength in all facets of the game.
