Lita Reflects on John Cena-Edge Feud

One of the most iconic periods of her WWE career was again in the women’s tag team. Lita and Edge took part in a feud with John Cena over the WWE Championship. This enmity continued for several months, and Lita was actively involved as a manager to Edge and even as a prop of romantic interest to Edge.
Their saga was highly appreciated by the audiences, and she still sits on the list of the most successful bookers in WWE. Only recently, Lita was at Northern Ireland Comic-Con, where she spoke about these events twenty years ago, accompanied by another WWE legend, Trish Stratus.
During the panel, Lita spoke about working with two of WWE’s greatest, Edge and John Cena. She said she was thankful for the work atmosphere they endeavored to collaborate with during their long feud. “I recall being teamed up with Edge and feeling that we were up against John Cena for about a year, even at live events”.
“Most of the time during this period, those two boys were very open to ideas. Some wrestlers have the attitude that, ok, let me handle it, and they will micromanage you throughout the night. But they were quite the opposite in that aspect”.
Lita Unspoken Connection
Lita further elaborated on how, owing to the duration of their work in the same space, this almost became an unspoken phenomenon whenever they stepped into the ring. “Because we had been through the ropes together for quite a long time, we had the, so to say, what is termed as ‘telepathy’ among wrestlers”.
“It would just take one glance to communicate what the other person needed. Heels at that time were really fun because the more crazy and outlandish we were, the more fun it became. John enabled Edge and me to be very, very silly”.
A WWE Hall of Famer, however, does not get frozen in time, and moments like this only serve to reinforce her standing in the industry, the seal of the WWE drawn soon after her induction.
