Cody Rhodes Secures Undisputed WWE Title, Embraces Owens at Berlin

It was Cody Rhodes, who managed to weather storms from Kevin Owens and retained his Undisputed WWE Title against all odds, however, with a great deal of honor and pride. The match was the first to be fought on the German Soil, Berlin to be precise, just after the segment of the show “WWE SmackDown,” that presented Rhodes being scripted to have a knee injury, which being the last performance added heat to the future confrontation.

It was the traditional wrestling swagger when both the celebrated wrestlers began this great fight by shaking hands peacefully. The fight was rather furious from the outset, where both Cody and Owens attempted to perform dives, jumping off the top layer of the ropes.

He made some daring leaps so that he transcended over his opponent, but Owens instead got up from the cage and did a cannonball. In the wake of Rhodes’ story of injuring his knee, he still got to apply a figure four leglock to Owens.

However, Owens was able to get to the ropes and break the hold. The match that followed was as fast as the first one with action from the air as Owens performed frog splashes and a rolling senton from mid-rope while, performing Disaster Kicks in response was Rhodes.

Ropes, Risks, and Resilience

Everybody was on the edge of their seats during the time when Owens almost lost after a brainbuster from the ropes because of a delayed cover which gave Rhodes a chance to recover. The hits were becoming more out of control, with headbutts, fists, and feet being thrown everywhere.

The points attempted were made good for a second time from the ropes by Rhodes only this time his knee gave way, making the match more dramatic than it already was. As Owens continued to focus on the limb of Rhodes’, he failed to execute an apron powerbomb and one could tell it was out of self limiting concern not to hurt his friend.

The most exciting part of the contest was on the highlight where two Cross Rhodes throws were applied by Rhodes. Owens, not in the least shaken…
