United officials have been advised that drastic plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium on land adjacent to Old Trafford would make it the most expensive ever built in the country.
The cost of a new 80,000-capacity stadium is expected to exceed Tottenham’s £1.1billion state-of-the-art home, according to external consultants.
