At the most recent NXT taping, Joe Hendry caused quite a stir when he made his presence known in WWE’s developmental brand. It happened on the same episode (June 18), where Hendry, along with Frankie Kazarian, entered a battle royal contenders to Trick Williams’ NXT Championship.

Their chanting didn’t help following an early exit that saw the crowd leave while still visible angry, but my word did Hendry serve to inspire his team. This story then took a dramatic turn in Toronto, during NXT: Heatwave.

WWE’s Strategic Hendry Use

Per sources within Fightful Select, WWE has big plans for Hendry. The company plans on cashing in with his viral appeal and using him heavily going into the upcoming NXT/TNA crossover episodes. These brief but meaningful cameos are by design to have you ready for BLUE & JOY and enhance your watching of guests.

Today, WWE’s strategy is deploying these little snippets of Hendry to keep the audience hooked and eager for his next big wrestling accomplish. This comment from an unnamed insider perfectly capture the mystery surrounding his future, “Nobody in their right mind wouldn’t be lying if said they have no interest to sign Hendry once he becomes free of TNA contract.” Hendry’s wrestling schedule remains quite full as he gears up for an important match at Slammiverary on July 20 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

He is advertised to take part in a six-way elimination match for the TNA World title currently held by Moose. Other teams in it include Frankie Kazarian, Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin so you have to see it. As WWE shrewdly drops hints of Joe Hendry to appear fans continue salivating at that potential prospect.
