Blackpool goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw has revealed that he is ‘feeling okay’ after he was taken off on a stretcher and given oxygen following a grizzly collision last night.
Grimshaw, 24, suffered a horror blow during his side’s defeat by Preston in the Championship and, after receiving medical treatment, was taken to hospital.
Tangerines boss Neil Critchley had expressed his concern for the player in his post-match interviews, but reassured supporters that he was ‘awake’ and ‘responsive’.
And this morning, Grimshaw himself provided a welcome update on his recovery.
‘Thank you for all the messages of support. I’m feeling okay. I’ll be back as soon as possible,’ he said, accompanied by a heart emoji.

The second-tier match was brought to a halt for almost 10 minutes after Grimshaw clattered into Preston striker Cameron Archer.
Worryingly, the stopper looked to have been caught by a flying knee in the collision, which took place around the 20-minute mark.
Amid concerning scenes, Blackpool’s medical staff raced on to the pitch to attend to the former Manchester City first-teamer, who received oxygen.
