Matt Hardy Reveals Why AEW Shocking Syringe Spot Hit a Nerve

Hardy, who has always been a strong proponent of the extreme wrestling style, has recently been critical of one of the highlights of AEW’s All Out 2024 event: a rather gruesome sequence. In this latest episode of the podcast The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the host talked about the limits he saw when Swerve Strickland used a syringe on “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW All Out 2024. This episode made him uneasy, and he acknowledged that this moment in a match was quite out of the ordinary.

“My initial reaction to the syringe [in Swerve’s cheek] kinda stood out to me the most,” said Hardy. “Probably there are many elements, but I just don’t know where it fell into the story, context-wise.

Syringe vs. Screwdriver
