Kayla Braxton Reveals Why She Left WWE

Kayla Braxton, a former broadcaster for WWE, has spoken about her decision to leave the company after eight years. Speaking on “The Nikki & Brie Show,” Braxton went into detail about why she decided to leave the company that she first announced in June.
Joining WWE NXT in October 2016, Braxton quickly made a name for herself and by 2017 started appearing at several Premium Live Events before being brought over to the main roster shows full time in April 2019. But as her recognition grew, so did her desire to try something different.
“Announcers, we operate very differently,” she said on the show. “I just realized within myself after eight years; I’ve done everything I can do here”. While working at WWE, she became a regular face on “The Bump” and was praised for her segments with Paul Heyman as a backstage interviewer.
However, with all of that notoriety came even less time for work outside of WWE. “You know how the schedule is at WWE,” she said. “It’s very hard to [accomplish] anything else you want to do. I just felt like I was starting to miss out on opportunities outside of the company”.
Kayla Braxton Difficult Decision
Leaving WWE wasn’t an easy choice but it also wasn’t one where she knew exactly what was next either. “I wasn’t doing much anymore at my former position,” she said.
“I just had to make the decision not knowing necessarily what I was about to do in that moment but I had to walk away. It was all amicable, I just knew it was time for me to peace out”. There were rumors post-departure about Braxton potentially joining AEW but she shot those down herself and said if they weren’t rumors about leaving wrestling altogether then they were wrong because if it wasn’t true she’d still be there.
This is the end of a chapter for her but also the start of new things as she looks to branch out in different directions with her professional life outside of wrestling.
