Like many other legends of his generation, Stone Cold’s body has also suffered the consequences of such a long career full of intense matches. The WWE legend had many injuries and the chronic pain continued even after his career ended, causing him damage whose effects are still evident today.

Stone Cold underwent surgery

Steve Austin underwent surgery on his left knee just under two months ago and is undergoing a period of rehabilitation. His progress is evident and he has already returned to the gym to recover muscle tone.

Through his social profiles, the former world champion wanted to update his fans about his condition: “My left knee was on its last leg. I have been putting this surgery off for years.”

He also wrote: “Before starting PT, I came out of the gate aggressive and started walking way too soon and too far and really pissed off my new knee. Total Knee Replacement is a year-long healing process, so I don’t know what the hell I was thinking.”

During his glorious career in this business, the WWE Hall of Famer has won 19 titles and became a global icon thanks to his famous gimmick. He was forced to leave professional wrestling at just 38 years old due to serious injuries to his neck and knees. From 2005 onwards, he made some sporadic appearances that were highly appreciated by the WWE Universe.

In 2003 – on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Raw – he was crowned as the best superstar of the first decade of the red show and also received the ‘Best Raw Moment Award’. His legacy goes far beyond the titles he has won, having inspired all the young talents who have approached wrestling.
