Eddie Jones has picked an England side awash with creativity, pace and attacking instincts, but if the conditions are as challenging as they are expected to be, the visitors must show they can adapt.
This Red Rose line-up is more sports car than juggernaut – and a hybrid sports car at that. Jones has chosen a multi-purpose back line in keeping with his vision of the way the game is going. In the back three and midfield, there is a vast array of English versatility.
Freddie Steward can operate on the wing if required. Joe Marchant is nominally stationed out wide but even more at home at outside centre. Max Malins has proved himself as a footballing full-back. Elliot Daly will wear 13 but can slot into the back field in any position, with vast all-round experience. Henry Slade is a jack-of-many-trades – anywhere from first receiver to last line of defence.
