Parties are a great way for all of us to spend time with family and that’s not so different for the superstars we love as well, because after filming various tours they definitely have less time to stay at home with loved ones.

In fact, even this year SmackDown, which airs every Friday night, will still offer two shows at the WWE Universe, because two episodes fall exactly on Friday 24 and 31 December, two days of celebration. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE will record these two episodes on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and then air them with the quiet superstars at home.

Update on WWE SmackDown

For New Year’s Eve, WWE will air a special “Year In Review” show, with the episode airing on Fox Sports 1 and not FOX, as FOX will air its annual New Year’s Eve show. with a “Year In Review” show reportedly by Nick Khan, Vince Mcmahon, and Kevin Dunn.

WWE originally pointed to its New Year’s Eve show in one that will take place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC, but that show is now off schedule. It is still listed on the Spectrum Center website, but tickets are not available for purchase.

Instead, the Christmas Eve episode of SmackDown will be recorded on Friday, December 17 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. A live episode of Smackdown will also air that night. The Christmas Eve episode will air on FOX regularly.

We remind you of course that the McMahon company will not be doing any pay-per-view this December, but will be broadcasting the special “Day 1” event on New Year’s Eve from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

A novelty that could potentially be very interesting, with a card that is under construction, with some matches already announced. WWE taping shows during the holidays is not out of the norm as last year’s episode of SmackDown that aired on Christmas day was also taped.

The episode featured a title change, but with a pay-per-view so close this year, that likely isn’t going to happen. With SmackDown going…
