New details on Sting's future

Sting was one of the most iconic performers of all time, not only for his victories in the ring. He has worked a lot on the evolution of his character to make his gimmick truly iconic and recognizable in every corner of the world.
The WWE Hall of Famer has now retired from this business after making history in WCW, TNA and All Elite Wrestling. A few hours ago, 'The Icon' announced that 2025 will be the last year he will show himself in public with the face paint and clothes that made Sting a legend.
“I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world. As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear,” he explained. “I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.”

Sting retired last year
Fans surely remember that Sting had announced his farewell to wrestling in March 2024, on the occasion of 'AEW Revolution', when he joined forces with Darby Allin against the Young Bucks. Although he no longer competes in the ring, he still has a contract that binds him to AEW as Tony Khan recently explained.
"He is with AEW, and he's retired from wrestling," Khan stated. "He's not going to have any more matches after the great send-off at Revolution, Sting has retired undefeated in AEW as a world champion, and I think he had this incredible send-off from wrestling. But he's still very much a huge part of the AEW family.
