Not content with turning from prop to playmaker, England’s Ellis Genge capped a superb Six Nations display in Rome by coming to the aid of stricken Italy forward Sebastian Negri.
Genge delivered a long pass off his left hand to set-up Jamie George’s second try in a convincing 33-0 success over Italy. It was one England fly-half wonderkid Marcus Smith would have been proud of.
In the second half, Genge immediately called for medical attention when Negri was knocked unconscious in a tackle with England’s Nick Isiekwe.

‘I heard him (Negri) choking so I gave him a slap to see if he reacted,’ said Genge.
‘He just carried on choking so I didn’t know if he had swallowed his tongue – that’s why I tried to roll him on his side. I’m not a master in medicine, but I’m pretty sure you are supposed to put them in the recovery position so I tried to do that. I was quickly ushered away by the medics.
‘I let them just carry on. It’s horrible when that happens. I don’t know Seb very well, but a lot of my friends played at Hartpury with him and apparently, he’s a lovely bloke. It…
