Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa said she played “perfectly” against Cori Gauff and admitted she was very happy with the performance she delivered against one of the best players in the world. Badosa, now ranked at No 42 in the world, destroyed sixth-ranked Gauff 6-3 6-0 in the Madrid third round.
“I think I served very well. I was playing from the baseline very aggressive. Tactically, I think I played perfect. I’m very happy that I won against a player like Coco,” Badosa said, via The Tennis Letter.

Badosa, 25, clinched her 10th top-10 win by beating Gauff in front of her home fans in Madrid.
“I’m proud of myself. Matches like this – in this court with all the crowd supporting you, it makes me feel like everything, it’s worth it,” Badosa added.
Badosa stormed past Gauff
Early in the first set, both Badosa and Gauff faced problems in their service games.
Badosa started the match by breaking Gauff in the very first game of the match but the American got the break back immediately in the second game. In the third game, Badosa had two consecutive break points but Gauff saved it to take a 2-1 lead.
In the following game, Gauff had a break point but Badosa saved it to tie the opener to two games apiece. After saving a break point, Badosa broke Gauff in the fifth game to open a 3-2 lead. In the ninth game – when Gauff was serving to stay in the first set – Badosa broke the American for the third time in the first set to clinch the opener.
After winning the last two games of the first set, Badosa also bageled Gauff in the second set to complete her straight-set win in a pretty impressive style. In the second set, Badosa clinched three breaks and didn’t face a…
