Oba Femi Content in NXT, No Rush for Main Roster Call-Up

Oba Femi, who has had a remarkable beginning to his career with more than 40 matches, is now a dominant force in the “NXT” Brand of WWE. This impressive run of form has made many believe that he is on the brink of getting promoted to the main roster.

Nonetheless, Femi has not waivered as far as his commitment to NXT is concerned, especially during his tenure as the NXT North American Champion. In an interview with “WrestleZone,” Femi talked about his philosophy saying, “What’s happened now? My thoughts are toward my title reign and my North American Championship and my feud with Wes Lee”.

He stated that it was necessary for people to concentrate on overcoming their present ordeals rather than being sidetracked by possible promotions. “Once people start thinking about call-ups they slow down their progress by limiting themselves only towards end tunnel vision.

They forget about all those steps and bends and dips and crests that they must walk before they reach the other side of this tunnel; I don’t do that”.

Moreover, he appreciates those fans who can’t wait to see him advance in his wrestling career yet still feels like he needs to further elevate the status of the NXT North America Title belt beyond what Wesley Lee achieved during his time.

At last month’s NXT Heatwave premium live event, Femi displayed dominance while defeating Lee in a major manner. By achieving this feat it meant that not only did he retain but also moved beyond 180 days in office. Subsequently after winning against him, Lee can no longer challenge for the title unless Oba remains its holder.
