Formula One fans hit out at Red Bull’s Max Verstappen on social media for nearly causing yet another crash between him and Lewis Hamilton by forcing him out wide at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Reigning F1 champion Hamilton sealed a stunning comeback victory in Sao Paulo on Sunday, fighting back from tenth in the grid at the start of the race to finish at the head of the podium and keep his title chances alive.
The Mercedes driver finally overtook Verstappen on lap 59 but the drama came 11 laps earlier when the Red Bull racer forced Hamilton off the track when the latter threatened to get around him.

Both drivers were forced wide and off the track when Hamilton tried to overtake on lap 48
Both drivers left the track before speeding back on course, and Verstappen has claimed that running wide was the ‘safer option’ in Sao Paulo.
‘We both of course, tried to be ahead into the corner, and so I braked a bit later to try and keep the position and the tyres were already a bit worn,’ he said via Crash.
‘So I was really on the edge of grip, so that’s why I think I was already not fully on the apex. And it’s a safer way, of just running a bit wide there. In a way I was, of course, happy that the stewards decided that we could just keep on racing, because I think the racing in general was really good today.’
However, Formula One fans blamed Verstappen for more dangerous driving that led to another crash between the title rivals.
