De Minaur and Boulter pause love before United Cup: “Not talking.

Since Australia is going to face Great Britain in the group stage of the United Cup, Alex De Minaur is going to meet his girlfriend and talented WTA player Katie Boulter in mixed doubles. Asked about this situation, here’s what De Minaur said.
“At the moment, we’re currently not on talking terms. You know, we’re enemies, We don’t want to give each other an inch, or any advice,” De Minaur joked in an Instagram interview for the United Cup. “But no, it should be fun.
It’s going to be an incredible experience. One that I didn’t think it would ever happen. The one thing I know is that I will feel pretty bad for Katie and GB when they’ll lose to Australia.” De Minaur’s comment is no surprise.
Alex and Katie often joke publicly about each other. If you don’t mind the comparison, they somehow resemble the relationship between actor Ryan Reynolds and his wife. “You really are my idol. Not too sure what’s more impressive the title or the biceps!” De Minaur commented on Instagram after Boulter won Nottingham this year.
De Minaur and Boulter officialized their relationship with a social media announcement about 2 years ago.
What’s the United Cup
The United Cup is a fresh mixed team competition where the players represent their countries.
The cup will take place in Perth and Sydney from 29 December to 7 January 2024. Novak Djokovic, currently competing in Paris, and Iga Swiatek headline the new event. As we’ve covered before, Serbia will take the court with the current world number one Novak Djokovic.
With him there will be Hamad Medjedovic, protégé of the 24-time Slam champion, Nikola Cacic. Among the women Olga Danilovic, Natalija Stevanovic, Dejana Radanovic. Regarding Poland, we know Iga Swiatek is teaming up with Hubert Hurkacz.
