Mark Henry Weighs In on Pro Wrestling’s ‘It Factor’

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ is well-known as the undersized ‘it factor’ in professional wrestling. It was his physical strength, showmanship, and unmistakable ability which always made it through his successful career.
Recently, on the “Huge Pop” podcast, Henry explained what this rare and unique quality is, as well as described what the word “it factor” means in wrestling. Concisely, he put forth some of his being black, brief words to understand why people don’t resonate with those who occupy what is referred to as an “it factor” by audiences.
“A lot of people hate those guys and girls. The people that have ‘it,’” said Henry. “Because usually, you can hear the people that have it before they enter the room.” He explained how those with such presence would make an immediate impact upon entering space, either visually or physically.
“Once they get in a room, sometimes it’s visually striking. Or the person, they look a certain way, you know, a bit different, or they’re beautiful, or they’re really nicely built, or they’re built like Braun Strowman, which is a great example of an ogre giant wild man”.

Spotting the “It Factor”
Henry went on to stress that not only Bahama looks for those with the “It Factor.” He noted that there are visible characteristics, and then there are some hidden qualities in a person, such as inner confidence and personality.
“sometimes, you get someone who has it all: the look, the sound, and the very important, the confidence. They have this attitude that states, even if I fail now, I have already won as I have been allowed to be myself – which is new for them”, Henry said.
“That’s what I look for. I go out looking for those people and say to them, hey, you are cut out for wrestling”.
