Jon Rahm on the biggest change since joining LIV Golf

Adapting to a new environment is challenging, regardless of the sport. The arrival of LIV Golf has transformed the world of golf, with many well-known PGA Tour names joining the new circuit. One of the most notable names to make the switch is Jon Rahm, the Spanish golfer who decided to join LIV Golf after a stellar 2023 season. 

Rahm hasn’t had a standout start on this Tour and has yet to impress. 

In a media interview, he discussed his move, highlighting the adjustment process. Rahm stated that nothing was particularly shocking, though the schedule change was a challenge. He mentioned that he has adjusted well and even enjoyed the transition. LIV Golf has positioned itself as offering a different philosophy compared to the PGA Tour, aiming to introduce innovations and provide fans with a new golf experience.

“Having committed to LIV early December, I had two months to ask questions and get ready for it,” Rahm said, as quoted by Golf Magic.

“So I wouldn’t say anything was shocking. 

I think the biggest challenge for me was going to be the schedule change. 

But that’s something you can get used to, it’s not a big deal.

I kind of actually enjoy being given the schedule.”

The 29-year-old golfer points out that LIV Golf differs in terms of its schedule, stressing that players have a set list of tournaments and there aren’t many modifications throughout the year. The Spaniard mentions that there is no need to choose which tournaments to play or to make adjustments. Many LIV Golfers have acknowledged that this is one of the reasons they joined the tour.

“This is the tournaments, this is where you play and that’s it, instead of having to figure out a schedule throughout the year based on tournaments and what I want to play and what courses I know and do not know.”- Rahm continued.
