Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed the ‘terrible’ performances of English duo Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard in their 4-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City.

Rashford and Lingard failed to make an impact off the bench as they were introduced in a double change by interim boss Ralf Rangnick just after the hour mark with City leading 2-1.

Not only did they fail to change the game, Riyad Mahrez notched two goals after their introduction to make the loss more severe.

Instead boss Rangnick opted to tinker with the formation and use Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in attack.

It started reasonably well for United who found themselves level briefly as Jadon Sancho cancelled out an early strike from Kevin De Bruyne.

It was short lived as De Bruyne grabbed a second before Mahrez netted a second-half brace to make it 4-1.
