Piers Morgan has taunted ‘Covid rule cheat’ and ‘liar’ Novak Djokovic following the World No 1’s imminent deportation from Australia, while his fellow tennis stars also reacted to news of his visa cancellation this morning.
After a whirlwind 12 days in which the World No 1 has been put under the spotlight due to his vaccination status, Australia has declined the Serb’s visa, meaning he will not compete at the Australian Open.
Djokovic made a last-ditch attempt to overturn the decision in court, but he failed to convince three senior judges to let him stay, meaning he will likely be put on the first plane back to Dubai, after arriving Down Under on an Emirates flight nearly two weeks ago.
And former Good Morning Britain host Morgan has blasted the Serbian following the Australian Government’s decision, praising the decision made overnight.
‘BREAKING: Covid rule cheat, immigration form liar, & anti-vaxxer icon Novak Djokovic loses final appeal against deportation & will be thrown out of Australia without being able to compete in Aus Open. Good,’ he tweetd.

Meanwhile, a whole host of tennis stars have had their say on the latest Djokovic development, with some expressing their sympathy for their colleague – who is also the head of the players’ union.
‘I know too little to judge the situation,’ Alize Cornet said. ‘What I know is that Novak is always the first one to stand for the players. But none of us stood for him. Be strong @DjokerNole’.
Canadian player Vasek Posipisil was even more supportive of Djokovic, slamming the decision to allow the Serb to travel before ultimately cancelling his visa.
