I just want to stay healthier for longer, be more consistent

Emma Raducanu reveals that her biggest goal in 2023 is to be more injury free as she would also like to show more consistency. Raducanu, 20, was dealing with injuries and physical setbacks throughout the entire 2022 season.
After concluding her 2022 season, Raducanu hired Andy Murray’s ex-strength and conditioning coach Jez Green. This offseason, Raducanu has been working extremely hard in the gym as she is determined to be much stronger in 2023.
“I can’t quite believe we’re at that stage again – the last 12 months have gone so fast. My biggest goal in 2023 is to be more injury free. I just want to stay healthier for longer. This year, the demands of the tour, going from having no training or stamina to being thrown into competing at the top level, my body has struggled.
So, I’ll be working hard to keep my body in good shape and improving. If you want a ‘resolution’ it’s probably to be consistent. Put in the work, day in, day out,” Raducanu told SheerLuxe.
Raducanu on her schedule
On December 16, Raducanu will be in Abu Dhabi for an exhibition match against Ons Jabeur.
After the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, Raducanu will travel to New Zealand as she is scheduled to start her 2023 season at the ASB Classic in Auckland. Then, Raducanu will fly to Melbourne for the Australian Open.
“Everything’s wrapping up in terms of tour finals and things like that, but I’m going to Abu Dhabi for an exhibition match on December 16th. It’s not an actual tournament but I’ve been out of the game for two months with a wrist injury, so it’ll be interesting to see where I’m at with that.
As I said, I’ve been doing a lot of gym work, so it’ll just be a great way to get back into the sport before the season officially begins. In the New Year, I’ll be in Auckland before the start of the Australian Open,” Raducanu said.
Raducanu hasn’t won any titles since the 2021 US Open and it will be interesting to see if she can do some notable things next…
