Ian Garry Calls Islam UFC’s Toughest Title Challenge

Ian Machado Garry labels his upcoming title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 to be the toughest championship bout for a title challenger in the history of the sport. Acknowledging his opponent’s professional resume, Machado Garry is locked in for the toughest battle of his life, and he looks forward to being the 2nd Irish fighter to claim a UFC champion label.

Stylistically, the odds are stacked against the Irish fighter because of his inability to prove himself against wrestling dominant contenders. If Machado Garry wins on 15th August, it will be a massive upset.

In a recent social media post, Ian Machado Garry highlighted the credibility in fighting Islam Makhachev, marking it to be the toughest test for any title challenger.

"You cannot name a fighter in recent history who has come up and competed against a champion of this level – a two-weight world champion on a record-setting unbeaten streak in the UFC and the pound-for-pound No. 1 fighter. It's the toughest challenge for a challenger to become champion ever".

Islam Makhachev was initially meant to fight Ilia Topuria for a super fight but his unexpected loss against Justin Gaethje has postponed the presented possibilities.
