Chris Jericho Reveals AEW Gimmick Origin from Social Media Criticism

However, some of these fans are furious with Chris Jericho’s “Learning Tree” gimmick. Regardless of that, most people were glad to see him in the ring no more or for a long time. The critics will go on and on against the one-time AEW World Champion who is not shying away from them but simply using them as materials to start off his new in-ring character.
Chris Jericho recently explained how trolls on social media have added more layers to his new persona: “I don’t let my characters tell stories; rather I try to make my stories tell themselves. And it makes me better.
Therefore all this Twitter and Instagram hatred about how stupid we look doing The Learning Tree turned into something that got people talking”.
Jericho on Evolution
Jericho mentioned how he always allowed his character to evolve through storylines so that he could always be at the top of professional wrestling.
“I don’t want to be associated with has been or slackers”. Moreover “But I’m not afraid to fail, and I’m willing to try different things”. He said when specifically asked by someone else.
However, just because you’re 53 years old now doesn’t mean retirement is on your mind like many criticize even if they question whether he can still deliver such performances consistently just being a part of AEW makes it good enough.
When somebody else asked him if less of him was needed, he answered “I’m here”. So knowing that Chris will stay on your screens until told otherwise should be comforting enough for anyone. One only needs to observe the ingenious way Jericho handles fan feedback -including through social media- which requires him to constantly keep an eye out for anything happening in the pro wrestling industry which continuously alters its face.
This means unless he stops venturing outside his comfort zone or taking up fresh challenges then there’ll be no stoppage of his successful run at AEW.
