The Nashville Predators might end up losing to Colorado in the first round, but they won’t make it easy on the Avalanche. After suffering an embarrassing 7-2 loss to Colorado in Game 1, Nashville regrouped for Game 2. Connor Ingram, making his first career playoff start and just his fourth career NHL start including the regular season, played brilliantly for Nashville. The Avalanche challenged him with a staggering 21 shots in the second period, but he didn’t allow a single goal during that frame.
It was thanks in part to Ingram that Nashville and Colorado were locked in a 1-1 tie through 60 minutes. The Predators battled hard in the overtime period and had some chances, but ultimately Colorado still won.
That gives the Avalanche a 2-0 series lead heading to Nashville. The silver lining is that the Predators showed that they can play alongside the star-studded Avalanche. Now their task will be to earn more than a moral victory in Game 3.

NY RANGERS 5 PITTSBURGH 2 (Series tied at 1-1)
Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith both hurt, the Penguins sent out third-string goaltender Louis Domingue. He couldn’t save the Penguins, but they also made his job tough. He stopped 35 of a staggering 40 shots.
Not that the Penguins were quiet in this game either. Igor Shesterkin had to face 41 shots, but the Rangers elite goaltender was up for the task. He stopped 39 shots to earn his first career playoff win.
