Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal is set to compete at the Indian Wells Masters and hit outfit for the tournament has been revealed.
Nadal, 35, is hoping to continue his stunning start to the season and make it all the way in Indian Wells.
Nadal, ranked at No. 4 in the world, is a four-time Indian Wells finalist. Nadal won his first Indian Wells title in 2007 and also had wins at the tournament in 2009 and 2013. Nadal ended runner-up to Novak Djokovic in the 2011 Indian Wells final.
Nadal enters Indian Wells undefeated
Nadal has made a stunning comeback to tennis as he has three titles in as many tournaments played this year. On Saturday, Nadal defeated Cameron Norrie in the Acapulco final. “There are many people who have a hard time in this world, I can’t be angry and not value how lucky I am to be a professional player,” Nadal said after the final.
“I received this type of education since I was little, values that remain for the rest of your life and that I have grown in. I have had the capacity for self-control even when things weren’t going well.” Nadal claimed five straight-set wins, including a straight-set semifinal win over world No.
1 Daniil Medvedev, en route to winning Acapulco. “I’m fine, very happy, I haven’t lost a set throughout the tournament and the first two days were fast matches that didn’t have much time on the court. Physically I felt very well despite the intense humidity there is in this tournament,” he said.
“I’ve responded well. It’s been a long career, when I came the first time everything was new to me and perhaps victories are more valued now than when you’re 18. It’s incredible to be able to win a tournament like this again at 35.” It remains to be seen if Nadal can win his fourth Indian Wells title this March.
