Jeeno Thitikul shines at last tournament: Praises Lydia Ko

The Kroger Queen City Championship wasn’t the chance for Jeeno Thitikul to reach her goal. The young golfer from Thailand is trying to find her rhythm and win the tournament, but Lydia Ko was just too strong for everyone and managed to take the victory. Thitikul mentioned in a media interview that she had a good start, but a score of 2 under 70 just wasn’t enough to win. The Thai golfer is happy with her performance and the momentum she has. However, the 21-year-old is aware of the gaps in her game and wants to improve day by day. She believes that progress is essential, considering that every golfer should have that mindset. Her determination to become a star is definitely a solid foundation for seeing her at the top of golf in a few years.
“I was pretty good on kind of starting, but I have kind of a rough back nine a little bit. But still finishing on a positive, birdie on the last hole of the tournament, which is pretty good today. Pretty happy with all the game right now. Still have a lot to work on, especially the short game has to be worked on as well. We don’t really stop improving. Improving is the key for all athletes. Until we retire is the day we stop.”- she said, as quoted by LPGA.
Thitikul talked about how she felt at first when she couldn’t play at the start of the year. She said she was really sensitive about it and had doubts about whether she could play good golf again. This young golfer mentioned that injuries can have a big effect. However, in the last couple of months, she’s seen really good results, which has been more than she expected. Thitikul found it amazing to be injured and still be in the running every week she plays.
Having injuries is definitely a heavy burden and a challenge, even for experienced golfers, let alone young ones.
