However, Knight has been much better this month in five starts, while posting a 3-1-1 record with a 1.77 GAA and .937 SV% The 20-year-old netminder posted his first NHL shutout on Friday in a 3-0 victory over Anaheim.
Knight has made four straight starts because Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t felt quite right. Bobrovsky has been in the lineup as the backup and the team doesn’t play again until Thursday at Montreal. Knight’s run will probably come to an end once Florida’s five-day break ends, but his improved play should get him more action down the road.
The dealing continued on Friday, as Monday’s trade deadline draws closer. The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Brandon Hagel from Chicago along with two fourth-round picks (2022 and 2024) in exchange for Boris Katchouk, Taylor Raddysh and two first-round picks (2023 and 2024, which are both top-10 protected. The Bolts paid a premium for Hagel, who should provide some additional scoring as a middle-six forward.
