The best golfers in the world will have a bit of a changeup this week in format at the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. As the name of the tournament indicates, match play will be used for the first three rounds which take place Wednesday through Friday, before a single-elimination bracket will be used on Saturday and Sunday. The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2022 field consists of 16 groups of four golfers, with the winners of each group advancing to the knockout portion over the weekend. Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, hosts the event, which features 64 of the top 70 ranked golfers in the world.

That group also consists of Max Homa at +225, Mackenzie Hughes at +333 and Matthew Wolff at +350. Johnson is a former match play champion as he won this tournament in 2017 and had another top-five finish the year prior.
