Kurt Angle opens up on Baron Corbin’s WWE departure

Kurt Angle is undoubtedly one of the greatest icons WWE has ever had. The former Olympic champion has had a truly impressive career, creating some of the most iconic rivalries of the new millennium and winning many titles during his long WWE run. Kurt had many injuries in the latter part of his career, and a serious neck problem basically forced him to say goodbye to professional wrestling. It is no mystery that Angle would have liked a different conclusion, perhaps facing John Cena in a match that would have made the history of the company.

However, the leader of the Cenation was not available at that time due to his commitments in Hollywood and Angle agreed to face a young talent like Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. The match was not particularly electrifying and Kurt himself confided that he regretted that choice. That huge win against a legend like Angle should have been useful for the future of Corbin, who unfortunately has never fully expressed his talent in WWE. As of November 1st, Baron is no longer under contract with the company and is free to seek a new promotion.

Baron, after that, he ended up winning King Of The Ring and then nothing else happened with him.

It’s a little disappointing to know that he beat a legend at WrestleMania in the legend’s last match and they didn’t really do much with him after that. For me, it makes me feel like I did that for nothing. Corbin responded on his official X profile: “To be fair, that’s one of the reasons I wish I had become world champ! It would have paid honor to what Kurt did for me. I will forever…
