Lakers’ LeBron James placed in NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, out Tuesday vs. Kings

LeBron James missed 11 of the Lakers’ first 22 games this season before landing in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has entered the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols and will miss Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, the team announced.

It will be the 12th game James has missed thus far for the Lakers, who entered Tuesday in seventh place in the Western Conference with an 11-11 record. He missed two games with right ankle soreness, eight games with a strained stomach muscle and one game due to the first suspension of his career.

James returned from the one-game ban last week and posted three consecutive games with at least 30 points as the Lakers went 2-1. Los Angeles is 7-4 this season with James in the lineup and 4-7 without him.
