Star James Harden out for Sixers vs. Suns, to miss third straight game

The Philadelphia 76ers will play the third game of a four-game road trip on Saturday night when they pay a visit to the Phoenix Suns. It is the second night of a back-to-back for Philadelphia as this tough stretch of their schedule continues.

The Sixers will be short-handed for the third consecutive game as they will be without their star point guard due to left Achilles soreness. James Harden, who has been terrific for the Sixers in his first full season in Philadelphia, is out again for this matchup with the Suns.

Harden is averaging 21.4 points, 10.8 assists, and 6.3 rebounds on the season. It makes sense to hold him out for this matchup as Philadelphia has bigger goals in mind when it comes to health in the playoffs.

Without Harden, the Sixers will need the other guys to continue to step up and fill in the gaps without him. That means guys like Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey will have to step up and provide more in his absence.

Tipoff from the Footprint Center is set for 10 p.m. EDT.
