November 13 marked the 19th anniversary of Eddie Guerrero’s sudden death. WWE Hall of Fame inductee Guerrero was truly an inspiration inside the squared circle before his tragic death via cardiac arrest in the hotel room. It was quite a sobering day as several fans and wrestlers took to social media to remember him in commemoration of his continued legacy.
WWE’s official accounts led the tributes, posting heartfelt messages about the iconic “Latino Heat.” Fellow wrestlers and those who idolized him growing up also shared thoughts and memories of their own online. Among them was Guerrero’s former rival JBL, who credited their feud as pivotal to his career. On X-formerly Twitter-DJ JBL shared simple but emotional: “His greatness can’t be described with words. Miss you, Ese.”
Dominik Remembers Guerrero
Dominik Mysterio, to whom many compare Eddie, joined in and showed his respect. Dominik’s trademark mullet and mustache are known nods to Guerrero, whom he calls “Uncle Eddie.” Dominik took to social media with a double collage of Guerrero. Fans brought up Eddie popular storyline against Dominik’s father, Rey Mysterio, which included a memorable Ladder Match for the custody of Dominik himself.
Another respected veteran took to sharing his thoughts from the wrestling world: Matt Hardy. Hardy shared a photo of himself and Guerrero from outside the ring and a clip of one of their matches on WWE SmackDown. “The pro wrestling world is thinking about Eddie today,” he captioned. We all miss you and love you, Ese!”
Charlotte Flair also joined the chorus, re-posting WWE’s dedication post to Guerrero’s memory. As the daughter of Ric Flair, Charlotte was probably coming of age when Eddie rise to greatness was an ongoing process and might have met Guerrero well before her own WWE career took flight.
Eddie incomparable charisma, technical prowess, and passion continue to inspire wrestlers and fans worldwide. The memory of “Latino Heat” remains as h-t now as it was 19 years…
