Mark Stone, Shea Theodore and Adin Hill departed to join Team Canada and the early signs point towards Stone and Theodore playing key roles. Stone finds himself on a line with Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, Theodore is paired up with Drew Doughty, and they are both on the second power play unit.

Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin were also participants at Team USA’s practice, with Eichel centering the top line next to Matthew Tkachuk and Kyle Connor. Noah Hanifin was paired up with young Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber on the third pairing. Hanifin likely saw his name elevated in the lineup sheet when it was announced that Quinn Hughes would be out of the tournament with an injury.

Before the break, the Golden Knights were able to mount a 3-1 comeback against the Bruins, picking up a vital two points. Pavel Dorofeyev and Tomas Hertl each recorded goals in the third period, scoring their 23rd and 21st goals of the season. They’ve become a bit of a dynamic duo this season, recording points at both 5-on-5 and the power play.
If the pair of European wingers can continue to produce like they have, they’ll create difficult matchups for their opponents in the playoffs.
