After giving NBA officials a piece of his mind in Wednesday’s intense win over the Toronto Raptors, Kings coach Mike Brown has been fined $25,000 for the heated exchange, the league announced Friday.

Brown was ejected early in the third quarter of Sacramento’s 124-123 victory after referees missed several calls on both ends of the court.

When Brown saw what he believed was yet another missed foul call with nine minutes remaining in the third, the coach had to be held back from the officiating crew.

The ejection was yet another chapter in what Kings players believe has been unfair officiating during their games this season.

On Wednesday, star Sacramento guard De’Aaron Fox suffered a cut that required stiches when was hit near the eye during the fourth quarter, but there was no foul called. The NBA stated in its Last Two Minute Report that the non-call was correct.

However, the league did admit officials missed a separate foul call that would have gone in the Kings’ favor shortly after.

While Brown certainly might have had a point as he argued with refs before being kicked off the court, Sacramento ultimately used his ejection as fuel for their comeback win over the Raptors.

Perhaps they’ll use their coach’s fine as more motivation to defeat the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
