AEW MJF Praises Shane McMahon WrestleMania 39 Performance

There are rumors going around that the former WWE European Champion, Shane McMahon might be going over to AEW. This could cause friction between MJF who is already the “spoiled rich kid” AEW American Champion and McMahon if he signs with them.

In a recent in-character interview with WrestleTalk, MJF did not mince his words, having expressed tremendous reservations about McMahon joining AEW whilst also admitting that he was impressed by his recent wrestling match in the ring.

“I thought it was super impressive how easily he tore his quad,” MJF said sarcastically, referring to an incident where Shane McMahon accidentally got injured in an unplanned match against The Miz at Night 2 of WrestleMania 39.

And when he added this sarcastic comment: “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Let’s hope that’s not true in every aspect of his life!” it served as a subtle backward reference to when Vince McMahon entered the ring and tore both of his quads during the 2005 Royal Rumble.

It also hinted at some of Vince McMahon’s more dubious activities, including s-x trafficking allegations made against him.

MJF Firm Stance

Additionally, MJF spoke further on this while being interviewed by Cultaholic and emphasized that joining AEW would not be good for McMahon himself.

However, despite recent reports about Tony Khan (AEW CEO) meeting with Shane and discussing a possible move to AEW, this does not make any difference since MJF stands firm on what he believes regarding this matter. He thinks that fans may get excited by seeing him there but it may not be ideal for him.

“This would have been bad physically, mentally, emotionally,” summarized MJF, implying why moving into AEW would be better imagined than done for someone like Shane McMahon. Although there is speculation over whether or not Shane McMahon could join forces with All Elite Wrestling, adding more fuel to the fire surrounding wrestling rumors, MJFs words suggest that this could be a problem…
