Paul Pogba has suffered bouts of depression during his career, the Manchester United star has revealed in an interview.

Pogba described the ‘unmistakable signs’ of the problem, saying there were times when he just wanted to be alone.

The 29-year-old midfielder is currently on international duty with France for the forthcoming friendlies against Ivory Coast and South Africa.

Speaking to Le Figaro, Pogba opened up about mental health saying: ‘I’ve had depression in my career, but we don’t talk about it.

‘Sometimes you don’t know you are, you just want to isolate yourself, be alone. These are unmistakable signs.’

The former Juventus player also spoke about the burglary at his home last week, which occurred while he was playing as a substitute for United in the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Pogba and his wife Maria Zulay rushed away from Old Trafford after the game to be with their two young sons who were at home with their nanny during the break-in.
