Bryan Danielson Praises Former AEW TNT Champ as ‘A Magician’

In the world of wrestling, making even long-time fans forget they know how this business works even for a brief second, is the real art. Bryan Danielson of AEW is one such master of his craft. Being in a ring with him means that fans worldwide have to hold their breaths anytime he takes a bump, knowing well that it could be dangerous given his history of injuries.

However, according to Danielson, someone in AEW has taken this art of danger to another level. In a recent “Gorilla Position” podcast appearance, Danielson explained what makes Darby Allin stand apart as a true magician in AEW.

“I will say this about Darby Allin. One, he’s crazy. But two… there’s a magician quality about him because I don’t want to give away too much, for as dangerous as the stuff looks, he’s about as safe as you could be with it,” Danielson shared.

He highlighted Allin’s unique ability to make high-risk maneuvers appear incredibly dangerous while maintaining an element of safety. “He was trained by Buddy Wayne, and Buddy Wayne, he’s from the Pacific Northwest, kind of where I’m from.

Like literally like someone that would chop you so hard, but then if you hit him too hard back, he’d say, ‘Brother, what are you doing?’ So Darby’s a true wizard”.

Revolution 2024 Stunt

On February 29th at Revolution 2024, fans requiring proof of Allin’s grip over this treacherous art need not look further than his stunt during the show.

During the event, Allin did an incredible dive off a ladder through a pane of glass, which resulted in 12 stitches being put into his back. Although incredibly, it didn’t stop him from competing any further in that match and beyond that evening.

Ironically enough, it wasn’t even such absurdity that it took him out several weeks later, but for a senton over the top rope to the floor, and it’s an action he has performed with ease numerous times before. Darby Allin has created a niche for himself as a performer who walks the line between reality…
