Mississippi native Davis Riley will try to follow up an impressive rookie PGA Tour campaign with a strong performance in the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi. The 25-year-old, who was raised 90 miles away in Hattiesburg, finished in the top 10 six times and was 35th in the FedEx Cup standings in 2021-22. He missed the cut at last year’s Sanderson Farms but gained momentum as the season went on, and five of those top-10’s were in his final 13 outings. Sam Burns is the defending Sanderson Farms champion, going 22 under to win by one stroke at the Country Club of Jackson, and he is among those who will tee off Thursday. The  Sanderson Farms 2022 field also includes 2021-22 PGA Tour winners like Keegan Bradley and J.T. Poston and Tour Championship qualifiers Sahith Theegala and Scott Stallings. Six of the eight winners since the event moved to Jackson were first-time PGA Tour champions.
