Carlos faced only three break points, firing up his initial shot and getting broken only once in the closing stages of the duel. On the other hand, Novak faced 14 break points and suffered five breaks, experiencing one of his rare straight-sets Major final losses.
The Spaniard was off to a great start, generating five break points in the first game of the encounter and seizing the last after the Serb’s mistakes.
