Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed a double sporting delight on Sunday, as the entire Spanish nation! The young gun claimed his fourth Major title at Wimbledon five hours before the Spanish football squad secured their fourth Euro title over England in Berlin.

Spain beat England 2-1, notching the record-breaking crown and making it a memorable day for the red-yellow nation. Alcaraz watched the Euro final, celebrating the title with his team and family just after finishing his Wimbledon dinner duties.

One of the greatest days in Spanish sporting history kicked off with Carlos’ second Wimbledon title over Novak Djokovic, with the young gun toppling the veteran 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 in two hours and 27 minutes. Carlos overpowered Novak in five sets in last year’s Wimbledon final.

The youngster took charge in the latest one, opening a 6-2, 6-2, 5-4, 40-0 advantage and sealing the deal in straight sets. Djokovic fought well in the third set, saving three match points and prolonging the battle before falling in the tie break.

Carlos faced only three break points, firing up his initial shot and getting broken only once in the closing stages of the duel. On the other hand, Novak faced 14 break points and suffered five breaks, experiencing one of his rare straight-sets Major final losses.

The Spaniard was off to a great start, generating five break points in the first game of the encounter and seizing the last after the Serb’s mistakes.
