Reported Plans Prior To Rhea Ripley’s Injury for SummerSlam

The WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has been out of action since Clash in Italy with prior reports suggesting a knee injury. As a result, she was not on the Night of Champions card. According to Fightful Select, she would have defended the WWE Women’s Title against either Jacy Jayne or Alexa Bliss at Night of Champions.

Either Jacy Jayne or Alexa Bliss facing Rhea Ripley could have been at Night of Champions, if not for Rhea's injury, @FightfulSelect has learned. We have a lot of news and notes in our DEBUNKATHON thread for subscribers. pic.twitter.com/Y88NMhPDC1

In a separate report by the Wrestling Observer, they state a similar report but say the plan would have been for SummerSlam. There’s no official word from WWE whether Ripley will be okay by SummerSlam or what eill come in regards to the WWE Women’s Title if Ripley will have to be out for a longer time period.

False Finish added the plan was to have Jayne go against Ripley while Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley went against the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Paige and Brie Bella.

The plan was Jacy Jayne challenges Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women's Championship and Fallon and Lainey challenge Brie and Paige for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship https://t.co/beU0oLNa73
